荷兰王国最负盛名的大学之一——鹿特丹伊拉斯穆斯大学法学院（the Law Faculty of Erasmus University Rotterdam）刑法学教授BLAD博士，应邀于近期到国家重点研究基地中国人民大学刑事法律科学研究中心作学术报告，欢迎所有有兴趣的校内外朋友参加。具体事宜公告如下：

五、约翰·D·布拉德（John R. Blad）教授/博士简况
约翰·D·布拉德（John R. Blad）博士出生于 1950年。是荷兰最负盛名的大学之一鹿特丹伊拉斯穆斯大学法学院刑法学教授，精通英语和德语，曾多次来华进行学术交流。他的研究兴趣广泛，涉及刑事法学和社会学等多个领域，尤其在法社会学以及法学理论与实务的结合方面颇多建树。当前主要研究兴趣：（1）一个民主法治国家如何发展和完善恢复性司法的问题；（2）刑法视野中的安乐死问题；（3）刑罚废除观的相关理论问题。 学术与 社会职务：
2000年，布拉德博士开拓性地创建了荷兰恢复性司法论坛并担任论坛主席至今，他还创立了荷兰第一本《恢复性司法论丛》杂志并担任该期刊总编至今。自2001年至2005年，布拉德博士担任鹿特丹伊拉斯穆斯大学公共安全研究所教育部主任；布拉德博士至今仍然担任的各种学术兼职还有：（1）荷兰恢复性拘禁平台主席；（2）刑事司法和道德委员会委员；（3）欧洲恢复性司法论坛理事；（4）荷属安第列斯社会发展部顾问；（5）鹿特丹伊拉斯穆斯大学法学院院委会主席。
BLAD教授发表在国际学术期刊上的著述主要有：

BLAD教授不仅执着于学术研究，而且热爱生活，喜好音乐，特别是合唱，现任荷兰鹿特丹“猛豹”男声四重唱合唱团团长。

Dr. John Blad (1950) is professor in the field of criminal law sciences at the Law Faculty of Erasmus University Rotterdam. His work is of a theoretical and integrative character, combining insights of the legal and the social sciences, especially sociology of law. His main focus has for a long time been on a) the problem of euthanasia in connection to the criminal law and b) the theoretical questions related to the idea of penal abolition.
Nowadays his main interest lies in the development of restorative justice in the context of the democratic state and under the rule of law. Courses he gives comprise Theory of criminal law and punishment, Criminal justice and crime and since five years he teaches in the last semester of the criminal law curriculum about the meaning of criminal law in the democratic ‘rechtsstaat’.
In 2000 he founded both the ‘Forum voor Herstelrecht’ and the ‘Tijdschrift voor Herstelrecht’ (Forum and Journal for Restorative Justice). He is chief editor of the Journal.
PhD (1996) on a theoretical review of penal abolitionism: Abolitionisme als strafrechtstheorie. Deventer: Gouda Quint.
From 2001 -2005 Director Educational affairs of the Research School Public Safety of Erasmus University Rotterdam.
