演讲人介绍：

René Pahud de Mortanges (*1960) is since 1992 Professor at the Faculty of Law at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. He also serves as Director of the Institute of Religious Law, Fribourg, was from 2007-2011 a member of the steering committee of the National Research Program, and serves as a counselor of state authorities and churches. He is editor of the collection Freiburger Veröffentlichungen zum Religionsrecht. His latest publications include Religionsrecht: Eine Einführung in das Jüdische, Christliche und Islamische Recht (with Petra Bleisch, David Bollag, and Christian Tappenbeck, 2010); Eglise Catholique et Etat en Suisse (with Libero Gerosa, 2010); and Religion und Integration aus der Sicht des Rechts (2010).

演讲内容概要：

Switzerland is a small country in the middle of Europe. Traditionally its inhabitants were all either member of the Roman-Catholic Church or the Protestant Church. But in the last decenies the country has seen a large scale secularisation on the one hand and the rise of other religions like Islam or Hinduism on the other hand. How does the Swiss legal order regulates the state-religion relations? How is religious freedom guaranteed and are there any limitations? Which recent cases in this field the Swiss Federal Supreme Court has decided? Why is there a cantonal competency in state-religion regulations and what does this mean? How Swiss autorities try to avoid religious conflicts and has this always been succesfull? The lecture wants to answer these questions in order to give an example how an European country deals with religion.
